Will the new Operational Combat Uniform be manufactured from flame-resistant fabric and, if so, have you addressed concerns with the durability of this material? Response: Testing in a range of representative environments is already underway. Will AMP be tested prior to manufacture of new uniforms, or is considered similar enough to MultiCam that further testing won’t be necessary? During the testing of the Australian Multicam Pattern Defence will confirm both the pattern and the palette meet the requirements for Afghanistan as well as examining what changes, if any, would improve its performance across the range of environments where Australian troops are operating. Response: The prototype pattern has retained the Crye Multicam palette as it is these colours that have proven to be effective in Afghanistan. Will the new AMP pattern follow the British MTP example and feature Crye’s MultiCam palette with a modified design, or are the colours being adjusted in any way? ![]() #Australian multicam camouflage uniform series#The following is a series of official responses from an ADF spokesperson to some of my questions: This new pattern is being developed by Crype Precision for the ADF – you can read more about this in an earlier Security Scholar article, here. I am not a modeller so requests that involve those skills will fall on deaf ears.Over the last few weeks I have been in correspondence with various officials from Defence, discussing the specifics and the impact of the upcoming Australian MultiCam Pattern (AMP). I'm open to suggestions, but at this stage I have no intention of adding vehicles or weapons. #Australian multicam camouflage uniform mods#Lastly, if you are using the indispensible RHSUSAF and RHSGREF mods, you will get retextured modern covered opscore helmets and alice backpacks respectively.Īll of these mods add so much to the game that I highly recommend them even if you don't want to use TPW UNIFORMS. #Australian multicam camouflage uniform Patch#Be aware that some of the uniforms have a US IR patch baked in and I cannot simply retexture it out, although it is possible to retexture XYI_VEST_PACK_1.pbo/data/ins/IR_US_co.paa if you feel up to messing around with PBO Manager. If you are using the Ranger Danger mod, which has truly phenomenal character/uniform models, then these will be retextured too. The uniforms aren't quite to my taste unfortunately so I have not retextured them here. SOF_Uniforms is no longer available on Steam (I have kept the link above in case it comes back one day) so I have written a small compatibility patch containing the handful of files required to enable TPW UNIFORMS to continue working.Īnd of course the Military Gear Pack adds an enormous amount of beautifully modelled gear. Unfortunately their custom RVMATs prevent wound textures, and they lack gloves (which can be worked around with Hogs Gloves) and no ability to add insignias. Retextured SOF uniforms really add a sense of bulk and bagginess that's sorely missing from default Arma3 uniforms, and make much more plausible modern day combat togs and fatigues. Using these mods will massively extend the amount of retextured units, uniforms and gear. With no other mods TPW UNIFORMS will retexture the OPFOR and INDFOR uniforms and various equipment. They encompass a range of plain, hunting, paramilitary and military camo looks, with my take on some well known themes and some never seen before because I made them up! All the camo textures have been sourced and developed by me to fit well with the general faded and worn Arma3 aesthetic, with colours that work properly with Arma3 lighting across a variety of terrains - if you want overly saturated high contrast uniforms that look like they just came out of the pack, look elsewhere. #Australian multicam camouflage uniform mod#In the months since I started working on this, it has expanded into a rather large mod introducing over 20 new camouflage textures onto hundreds of new units, uniforms, vests, backpacks and headgear encompassing default and mod Arma3 content. TPW UNIFORMSTPW UNIFORMS originally started out as my personal attempt to bring some better looking contemporary / near future Australian Defence Force infantry units into my game. ![]()
